We Are Striving to BE the Difference!

The vision of Mary’s Helping Hands is to combat poverty in the lives of children living within Butler County.

One of the ways in which we are accomplishing this is by providing new/gently used clothing, baby furniture, strollers, diapers and toiletries to children 0-4 years of age.

While working with the Butler County Educational Service Center SUCCESS program’s Community School Liaison to Brookwood Elementary School, we were made aware of an emergency need within our community.

Time and again, Liaisons go into homes within the school district with the mission of overcoming non-cognitive barriers to learning by building bridges between home, school, and community in order to improve school success and self-reliance. However, in their mission, they discovered younger children in the homes in just as much need as their older school-age siblings.

There are programs within the district that provide clothing for school-age children Kindergarten and older – but there is a gap in providing for siblings in the same home who are too young to receive the services – namely newborn infants to four year old’s.

This need is community-wide. However, we as invested members of the community, have chosen to step forward and fill this gap by initially working with seven schools. Our vision is to grow and expand to meet the need across Butler County.
